After an accident, your insurance company may try to "steer" you to one of their preferred or "DRP" (Direct Repair Program) shops. While they can make recommendations, they cannot legally require you to use a specific shop. Washington's "anti-steering" regulations (RCW § 48.30.010) protect your freedom of choice.
